[Musikmesse] A finger of guitar?
By Cannonball on 03/13/2008 at 13:36
Manne presents a very limited edition of only three pieces (two guitars and one bass), a series whose originality comes from the fact that they were all built from a single genuine malt whisky cask!

The cask was donated by one of Scotland's oldest single malt distilleries. It was made out of oak, a very heavy wood that is said to have properties close to those of the European ash which is commonly used for guitars. To protect the wood, a very special formulation of odorless oil mixed with whisky was used so as to keep the body preserved with the original whisky taste. All hardware was antiqued to match the body finish style.

Surprisingly though, no information is available regarding how these special edition instruments are expected to age... ;-)
